We have been issuing a newsletter approximately once each month through the DFM mailing list. The text of the newsletter is updated on the wiki so we can provide continuously-updated online information. Copy and paste the page text into the body of an email message, then send to dried-fish-matters@lists.umanitoba.ca.

The newsletter page transcludes several other pages that can either be updated manually or using bot scripts. (Manual editing is likely to be easiest for most contributors.) See the pages listed under "components" below for items that need to be updated.

When the component pages have been changed, there is a delay of up to an hour before the Newsletter page itself is updated; it can be refreshed immediately using the "purge" link:

Components

  • Calendar - events calendar. See Help:Calendar for information on how to update this from the Google Calendar listing. This can be updated automatically by the ical2wiki bot.
  • Blog feed - listing of recent blog posts. This can be updated automatically by the blog2wiki bot.
  • Recent research outputs - the most recent research outputs of the DFM project, contained within the *DFM Reports and publications collection in the DFM Zotero library. This can be updated automatically by the zotero_recently_added bot.
  • Featured pages - list of recent pages in Category:Featured on the wiki. This can be updated automatically by the featured_pages bot.
