Madu Galappaththi

Madu is a PhD Candidate at the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability at the University of Waterloo, Canada. My research interests broadly include understanding human-environment interactions from a governance perspective. My doctoral research focuses on the governance and institutional context of dried fish value chains with special attention to social wellbeing and gender dimensions. Prof. Derek Armitage and Prof. Prateep Nayak are my co-supervisors. I undertake my research as part of 'Dried Fish Matters’ SSHRC-funded research partnership. My empirical focus is on dried fish producing communities in coastal Sri Lanka.
