Summary
This Venn diagram illustrates the intersection of major themes in the dried fish literature, based on a review of resources collected in the DFM Zotero library. Themes in the literature were grouped according to three main categories, which reflect the tag combinations: (1) ##THEME: food security, health, and nutrition; (2) ##THEME: value chains, economy, and labour; and (3) ##THEME: culture and social relations AND #THEME: history / change.
Shading luminosity of the circles in the diagram reflects the number of directly relevant publications matching each thematic tag or combination of tags, with the darkest possible shading (black = 0% luminosity) corresponding to an arbitrary maximum value of 500 matching references, and the lightest possible shading (white = 100% luminosity) representing zero matching references. Actual values range from 269 references for food and nutrition security to 5 references for the combination of all three major themes.
The sample research questions listed in the diagram represent significant issues and knowledge gaps that have been addressed by the reviewed literature, corresponding to each of the thematic combinations.
