I am a PhD Candidate at the School of Environment, Resources, and Sustainability. My research interests broadly include understanding human-environment interactions from a governance perspective. My doctoral research focuses on the governance and institutional context of dried fish value chains with special attention to social wellbeing and gender dimensions. I work under the guidance of Prof. Derek Armitage and Prof. Prateep Nayak. I undertake my research as part of 'Dried Fish Matters’ SSHRC-funded research partnership. My empirical focus is on dried fish producing communities in coastal Sri Lanka.

Madu Galappaththi
