This base interview guide, part of the approved DFM Scoping Research Protocol, is intended to support research with dried fish labourers.

How many laborers are there? Where do they come from?
What is the percentage of women in the labor force?
Conduct
What type of jobs do you do?
How much are you paid?
Are there any seasonal variations in work load?
Do you get credit from your owners?
What are the conditions of these credits?
Where do you stay and what are the conditions of your living quarters?
Performance
Why did you choose to work in this field? Are there any incentive to be associated with the dried fish
Are there any health hazards associated with this work?
Do you have any labor associations? Are there any rules and regulations that govern your labor contract
Are there any government schemes that you are aware of helping labor in general and also in particular with regard to dried fish?
Are you happy with the present work and what are the changes you would like to see in the working conditions?
Do you think you are adequately compensated for your work?
